CNSF Success Story: Labiba
Name: Labiba Abd Murad
"My name is Labiba, I am from Majidia. I have 3 kids, two boys and one girl.
I used to have a stable situation with my family where we had a peaceful life. However, when the clashes escalated and ISIS entered the area, we were forced to move to Khabat. There, we rented a small house, it was very expensive. So, we ran a small shop there in order to pay for the rent and help my children to go to school.
After the war finished in my village, Majidia, we came back to our almost-destroyed house. I felt sad to see my house like that; I remembered the lovely days I spent with my family but now it all vanished.
We have no choice but to stay at our home. We know it is destroyed but at least we don’t have to pay for the rent and my children can go to school like other children.
One day and while we were sleeping, the generator at the house started to leak poisoned smoke into the house. I lost my husband and my youngest kid who was 3 years old.
My husband is no more here with me; I lost hope in life because I can't find a job and get cash to feed my kids. I am relying on the supplies I get from neighbors and other NGOs. However, I still can't fix the damage in my house.
Last week, I was chosen to be one of the beneficiaries who are going to have their houses fixed. I couldn’t believe it! I was so glad that my house will be back like before, safe and cozy."
